Why Don’t You Visit Model Tractor Shows ?

Hello again ! Why don’t you visit Model Tractors Shows – they’re great. It’s been a couple of weeks since I last wrote a blog – I’ve been pretty busy.   I am just back from the Model Tractor Plant and Construction Show run by Meridienne Exhibitions at Warwickshire Exhibition Centre.  I sure had a great time. I met lots of  tractors fans of all ages and even had my picture taken with one or two. You can see some films of my visit on the Muddyfarm Models facebook page.   It was great to be at the Show and to introduce lots of  new tractor fans to our muddy models.  Whilst it was a happy occasion  – it was also a little bit sad as I had to say bye bye to quite a few of my muddy friends  including this big John Deere 9460R which has joined a fleet in Derbyshire.  I’m sure he will be a firm favourite.   I looked up to that big tractor – it was hard not to – he was ginormous !

Muddyfarm Models had a large stand filled with muddy and weathered models including tractors, tankers, implements, machinery and even weathered Kane Classic Trailers – some of which were loaded with silage ! ( not real silage of course ) They all went to new owners.  We even parted company with our dependable Joskin Modulo tanker which has gone to a new owner in Wales.

Of course there were masses of model tractors of all sizes and even real tractors including a mighty impressive Valtra. Here are some images of real tractors at the Show.

In a world of their own were these exceedingly tiny tractors. I had to look really close to see them. The gentleman responsible had crafted superb replicas of real working tractors and machinery inserting them into an incredibly detailed miniature diorama that makes you feel you have stepped into the world of Gullivers Travels !

Take a look in magazines such as Model Farmer, Tractor and Machinery and Classic Tractor  to see information on more shows taking place. There are shows taking place throughout the World and if you look I’m sure you will find one not too far away from you. Why don’t you visit model tractor shows and discover an incredible group of very talented people. You may be surprised who you meet. You may even surprise yourself to find you have an undiscovered interest in the world of tiny and not so tiny tractors. So whether you are a little person or a bigger person go along and support your local model tractor shows and get on board  your very own journey of discovery. As Buzz Lightyear said; ‘To Infinity and beyond’  – I just say never mind infinity get up close and vrooom into the field of tiny tractors.   Of course in only a few weeks we will be holding our own Show at Portrush in Northern Ireland.

Just JCB

It’s hard to believe that we are nearly at the end of January.  I have decided that perhaps a little bit of yellow would brighten things up.  Therefore for this blog I am featuring just JCB. Lots of pictures showing some of what the ‘the team’ here at Muddyfarm Models get up top. So without further ado here is a collection of both clean and ‘dirtied’ JCB models.  Please note that these are all toys which can be ordered off our website www.muddyfarmmodels.com. If they aren’t showing on the website and something interests you, just drop us a line to info@nationalminitrac.com We can also bring specific models to Shows for collection by arrangement hence saving you money on postage.

On The Road Aagin !

Hello again !  Here at Muddytrac Farm I’ve been very busy getting ready for the Christmas rush.  The ‘little people’ are putting in extra hours hardly stopping for a quick cuppa tea. Anyway, whilst there has been plenty of business at Muddytrac Farm I have been on tour across the water to Scotland and beyond.  It seems like only a blink of time since I caught the Stena HSS Belfast to Cairnryan boat. The ‘Stena Plus’ Lounge was great.  Nice comfy big seats,  fine tray bakes and splendid coffee. The Staff were really friendly and made me feel at home – albeit a home on water !  Sitting there, cruising along and reading the FT ( Financial Times ) – it was great.  After disembarkation I headed down the road where I stopped to get a quick picture of the boat.

After travelling for some time I decided to stop off for a quick cuppa tea at Gretna. You may recognise this very famous location. Fear not – I did not run off with a lady tractor to tie the knot ! Feeling a little nostalgic I put up one of my advertising boards to remind you all of the ‘Our Time Our Place’ campaign to boost Northern Ireland tourism in 2012 – I think it worked.

Stop Off At Gretna.

I ‘forged’ on until I arrived at my final destination – The Rheged Centre at Penrith.

So what was I doing at The Rheged Centre ? Well – at the invitation of Peter and Sharon at  www.132farmingmodels.co.uk  I was attending  the Lakeland Model Farm and Construction Show with the Muddyfarm Models Stand.

I had a fab time and somehow even managed to get a quick film of my visit. You can see my film on the Muddyfarm Models Facebook page. Here are some images of the Muddyfarm Models stand at Lakeland Model  Farm and Construction Show.

I had a great time at the Show. Lots of tractors and loads of model tractor enthusiasts. Peter and Sharon  organised a raffle, tombola and auction. These raised £930 for the charity CLIC SARGENT ….. well done ! Here are some more pictures from the Show.

I really enjoyed myself at The Lakeland Show. However, I also felt a wee bit sad as I left some of my muddy friends behind. Three of the latest New Holland T7 315 tractors all nice and dirty went to new owners.

All good machines and I’m sure they will be very happy on their new farms.

All to soon the Show was over. It was time to make the long journey home back to Muddytrac Farm in County Antrim.  I travelled back with happy memories of a great Show, lots of nice people  and with a sense of anticipation as soon it would be time for my ‘home show’ at Portrush. The Northern Ireland Farm Toy and Model Show is taking place at Magherabuoy House Hotel, Portrush on Friday 25th November. You can be sure I’ll be spreading the word.  Until my next post this is Jake the Tractor  ‘on the road again’ and keeping er lit !
